One of our Discovery classes at MNJHS this term is called Panther Preschool.  In this course students are discovering what it takes to be a preschool teacher, and becoming experts in early childhood development.  At the end of our term our class would like to put our skills and projects to the ultimate test, by opening the Panther Preschool for two days.   Please complete the attached form if you would like to register your preschool aged child (3-5 years old) for a FREE preschool on January 4th and 6th from 2:00-2:45pm. (Click the red "NEXT" in the upper right hand corner above the first photo until you reach the form or fill out a form at Mt. Nebo Jr. High in the front office.)

Latinos In Action Fundraiser Fun!

Our MNJHS LIA, Latinos In Action, held an awesome fundraiser for Primary Children's Hospital on Dec. 16th.  They hosted a Face-Off with Payson Jr High's LIA in basketball and indoor soccer games at Mt. Nebo Jr. High.  Authentic tamales, elotes (street corn), and champurrado (hot chocolate) were sold at the event.

The LIA students had a great time supporting a local hospital.  Their goal was to do something nice during this season of giving.  Over $560.00 was raised and given to the hospital.  WAY TO GO MNJHS LIA!

They were awarded a $500 grant!

Coleen Huff (CTE teacher) and Amber Capell (Math teacher), both at Mt. Nebo Junior High said, “We are so excited to have received a Nebo Foundation Grant.  This money will be used to encourage our students in the field of STEM education.  We will be using these funds to purchase robots (m-bots and Meccano robots) that the students will build and learn to program. Our discovery coding class is excited to share with their parents and families what they are learning with these robots. Our Discovery Showcase Night is January 11, 2017. As teachers of this class, we are thrilled that more of our students will now have the opportunity to discover STEM-based learning through robotics.”

Huntsman Cancer Institute Blanket Donation Service Project

MNJHS was proud to help make and donate blankets for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.  Our students worked hard to provide comfort to those suffering with this terrible disease.  MNJHS joined several other Nebo School District junior high schools to donate over 200 blankets.  A note was attached to each blanket wishing patients luck.  Nan Davis, of Springville Jr. High, spearheaded the project.
