Submitted by khristen.massic on Mon, 02/03/2020 - 07:04

Areas of Nebo School District have been affected by the recent storm.  Due to the extremely cold temperatures, hazardous driving conditions, and the expectation of continued snow, as of 6:15 a.m. the decision has been made to cancel school today, Monday, February 3, 2020.  We know this will be an inconvenience for many, but safety of students and employees is of utmost importance.

All extracurricular practices or activities planned for before or after school will also be cancelled.

Submitted by khristen.massic on Thu, 01/30/2020 - 20:54

Could you name a book title and author if given facts or details from the book? Students who participate in Battle of the Books can and it is impressive! Last week was MNJHS's in house Battle of the Books where teams battled it out to become one of the three teams to represent us on February 3, at Payson Jr. Good luck to our teams! #battleofthebooks #mnjhspanthers #mnjhs #pantherpride #pantherroar #NeboSchoolDistrict

Mrs. Fordiani's Class Demonstrates how Energy Moves Through Various Mediums

Submitted by khristen.massic on Fri, 01/17/2020 - 12:43
by Erica Fordiani

Students in 8th-grade science are learning about how the structure of a wave affects its ability to be reflected, absorbed, transmitted, or refracted through various mediums. To demonstrate how sound travels the fastest through solids, Mrs. Fordiani's class filmed a domino race where the dominoes modeled the molecules of solids, liquids, and gasses. They were able to show how energy moves through the molecules by knocking over the dominoes at the same time.

Daniela Chavez was December's recipient of the Mayor Youth Recognition Award from Payson's City Council!

Submitted by khristen.massic on Tue, 12/31/2019 - 20:09

Daniela Chavez was December's recipient of the Mayor Youth Recognition Award from Payson's City Council!

"Daniela Chavez is an intelligent and helpful to students. She is always dedicated to her studies and her work is superior. She is also a great leader in class and our school, being a great example and a leader for the school and the LIA."~ Madison Stewart

"Daniela Chavez is a remarkable young woman - she sets herself apart by being proactive in her studies, always striving to do her best. She's an example to others as she welcomes and assists new students to the school. Recently, a new student was added to our class. Daniella was standing at my desk and saw as I was assigning the student a seat. She requested that I put the student by her so she could help her as she knew she spoke little English. She is willing to work with anyone. No matter which group she's in, she contributes meaningfully to the projects. I really appreciate her example." ~ Myra Miller

"I have worked with Daniela Chavez for the past two years. She always has a very happy and positive attitude and is always willing to help with anything. She is very friendly and welcoming to others and has helped orient several new students to our school. Recently I was at a conference with her where the speaker asked the students in the audience a question. No one was responding and there was a really awkward silence. Daniela raised her hand and gave a great answer. She is very sensitive to others and looks for those who need her help. She always has a smile on her face.
